Are you defining your day?
Hours turn into days, days turn into weeks, and weeks turn into years. The Psalmist was right when he said life is like a vapor; it waits for no one. The days pass, and we settle into a predictable routine, a cog in a wheel. Is going through a routine what Jesus meant when He said we’d have abundant life?
I recently wrote an article on Outdoor Gulf Coast called Take Action and Change Your Life. In the article, I talk about adding a disrupter to your day. Look for opportunities to step outside the routine and give room for the Lord to work. Is going through the same motions day after day walking by faith?
Walking by faith is a moment by moment opportunity to trust God, to bring heaven to earth, and take chances for the kingdom. It’s redeeming the time. It’s deciding to live today.
What can we learn from creation about this? Take a walk outside, and you discover that nature is teaming with life and it changes daily. The waves of the ocean are never the same, sunrise and sunsets, the wind blows differently each day, creation is never the same. Knowing creation changes should be a hint to us to allow change into our lives. Keep a fresh look on life and define your day with purpose, don’t let the day pass you by without defining it.
