Read: 1 Peter 1:3
Peter writes about our incorruptible inheritance “that does not fade away” reserved in heaven. Jesus told the disciples that he would prepare a place for us.
We have longings. The scripture says that even “creation groans.” This world will never satisfy. For God has put eternity in our hearts, and the power of God keeps us until that day.
Peter mentions how we rejoice in what God has for us but that currently, we are grieved by various trials that test our faith. Through the trials, although we have not yet seen Jesus, we believe and rejoice with “joy inexpressible” He states that the end of our faith is the salvation of our souls.
“…rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
Our hope is in Christ and what he has done for us. Our hope is not for a kingdom here we build, but Christ himself is building a future kingdom.
Rest in Him, knowing He works everything according to His purpose. He is good.
Our hope.
