The Raw Materials

I don’t know where to go from here? Maybe you are asking the same question I often ask myself.

God makes all things new. In the beginning, He took raw materials and breathed life into them making man and woman. He took that which was without form and void and spoke creation into being. God reinvents. Like the caterpillar that becomes a butterfly, He takes us and transforms us into something wonderful. He is magnificent.

Shaping the wood for a pen

There is something about woodworking that makes me think about what God is doing in my life. I take the raw material and begin to shape it into something of value. God does that in our lives. I often find myself longing for something more and find myself asking what my purpose is. Like that block of wood, I really can do nothing except to rest in the hands of the one who is forming me.

Some moments seem so clear and then other moments I have no idea what I’m doing in life. But then something I read or hear reminds me of His love and His working in my life. Do you know what’s remarkable? God uses our words and actions to lift up a weary soul and remind them of His amazing love.

Ready to polish

God works with raw materials. It all started at the cross and will end in the presence of the Lord. In between, He uses you and me to encourage and lift up those weary hands to the heavens.

The finished work!
