“The floods have lifted up, O Lord, The floods have lifted up their voice; The floods lift up their waves. The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea.” Psalm 93:3-4
Do you ever feel like your problems are going to overcome you? The future issues echo in your head like the raging of the sea, leaving you feeling helpless. You feel like one issue after another crashes upon the shores of your life. The unknown future can cause anxiety. How do you overcome it?
Call out to the Lord in those times. We read to cast our cares upon the Lord. I like what Isaiah writes,
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.” Isaiah 43
If you are a believer, then know that those rivers that seem so daunting won’t overflow you. When you walk through that difficult situation, God will be with you.
If there is one thing you need to know as a constant in your life, God loves you. The Psalmist says, “Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”
You may feel overwhelmed. The future may seem like a turbulent sea. Talk to the Lord about it. Wait on the Lord and be courageous. He will see you through. Let the peace of God rule your heart, and perhaps today, you can hear those words Jesus said to the raging sea, “peace be still!”
