A Gift, Undeserved and Unearned

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10 NKJV

A gift. Undeserved and unearned. You and I have received a gift.

The gift God gave us is not something we earned or contrived to get; this gift comes through faith in Christ. We each have been given a measure of grace; none is left without a measure of grace.

What will you do with what you’ve been given?

Peter tells us in 1 Peter 4 that “above all things,” we should have fervent love for one another. Above all things is love, and love is what the world will notice when we follow Christ. As believers, we need one another, and Christ is in us, and when we minister to one another, we also minister unto Christ.

That deep reality of Christ in you as a believer is waiting to be shared. From the depths of that well, draw from it as a good steward and poor that into others. The proverb says, “He who waters will be watered himself.” In watering others, you will find yourself filled.

Be a good steward of that which God deposited in you. Be a good steward of the many-sided grace of God.
